My body of work is concept based and diverse in its media ranging from mixed-media drawings and kinetic objects to installation, video and performance. I utilize a variety of concept inspired forms intended to provoke thought and dialogue yet remain accessible, whimsical and occasionally amusing.

My current preoccupation with creating small book-shaped “butterflies” out of remnants stems from personal memories and current life concerns. I make objects that feel visceral out of non-traditional art materials such as lint and hair and embed them in glue. The final processes of cutting them apart and then sewing them back together are both meditative and exciting. The non-forgiving and tenuous natures of these experimental and playful materials make the forms much more arbitrary, therefore directly connected to the precarious nature of daily life.

binding, binding, binding,
grinding, grinding, grinding,
fleeting, fragile, ephemeral, frail.
